Banana Van Vents
Banana Van Vents
The Midland railway built covered goods vans specially for the conveyance of bananas and other fruit. They were built to various diagrams between 1905 and 1909 and probably lasted well into LMS days, C1939. A reasonable representation of Diagram D387 can be built using the Slaters kit as a basis, with the addition of a set of four of these vents. They are laser cut in 3mm MDF by me, from my drawings. The eagle-eyed will note the model pictured isn’t a banana van, as I have posed the vents temporarily for photographic purposes only!
Supplied as a set of four, for one van, grey primed. They can be further enhanced by the addition of bolt details and a representation of the opening mechanism.
Sold in packs of 4.
