GWR 7mm Silverton Signal Box
GWR 7mm Silverton Signal Box
This kit is based on Silverton Signal Box which was situated within the Exeter Division (Pottery Siding to Dainton Tunnel section) of the Great Western Railway. This particular box is described in the Signalling Record Society’s Signal Box Register as a GW ‘Type 7D’ and was the ‘standard brick’ design introduced around 1896 and was produced with numerous variations until well after 1921. They all had hip roofs and blue engineering bricks were used for the quoins, plinth and surrounds to the windows and doors. Some 401 ‘Type 7’ boxes were built with 185 of them being listed as ‘Type 7D’ making this is a very typical and iconic GWR design with an interesting variant feature of an extra locking room window under the stairs. The main building has a footprint of approx 102mm x 237mm (305mm inc staircase).
The kit includes all parts to make the exterior model, including precision laser-cut walls, brick plinth with chamfer detail, roof parts, self-adhesive slate strips, lead flashing, 3D printed roof vents and hip finials, all windows, doors and glazing and staircase parts. Full instructions are included.
All parts are unpainted.
Now INCLUDES interior detail kit, featuring internal floor, wall surfaces, vestibule and window frame overlays.
